2005 Raffle
Marv Goemaat and his first black bear that he harvested while hunting with Border Country Outfitters. Marv was the winner of the 2005 AFAC banquet main raffle |
Dear Steve Ries & Aiming For A Cure Committee,
I just wanted to take some time and let you know how my black bear hunt went with Border Country Outfitters. This was the trip I won in the raffle at the banquet this year, and awarded to me by your generous donation. This was my first bear hunt, as well as the first in using an outfitter.
Steve Turiseva and his staff were outstanding. Everything about this trip was a high class operation, and an experience I will never forget. They did everything possible to ensure my success. Steve even made many phone calls to me before my hunt to make sure all was in order. They knew exactly how to help me to be successful as a hunter, and provided outstanding hospitality and food. I did harvest my first black bear on this trip, and what and experience it was!
I am an avid outdoors man, and yet this will be one of my favorite hunting memories.
Thank you and all of those involved in your organization putting on this successful event that made this trip possible for me. Your work and dedication to the Leukemia foundation changes the lives and priorities of those around you. I hope my schedule will allow me to attend the banquet in person this year. My son Dan enjoyed working with you and helping out last year. Thank you again for this opportunity and keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Marv Goemaat
